Craft Street Design // But first, Chai

If you're following along with the 2016 Scripture Memory / Dwell Richly printable, here's the verse for week 9:

"The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you - they are full of the Spirit and life." John 6:63 (NIV)

Pratima from Craft Street Design contacted me a couple of months ago about her fantastic new print line. She offered to send me a free print from her collection to check out the concept and quality of the design. Her company makes cleanly designed inspiration posters, based on design principles Pratima learned while working at Apple.

Of course, I immediately leaped at that opportunity! After hour(s) of browsing through her site and debating between which prints I loved the most, I settled on this one:

I've seen prints that say "but first, coffee" but I haven't seen one with chai. One thing is for sure, I'd prefer a nice cup of chai over a warm cup of coffee any day (although, I do love them both). Plus, this is basically what my brain would look like if you examined it in the wee hours of the morning. I'm learning that it's best to start my day with a cup of chai (or coffee), sit at my desk, look over the plans for the day then re-prioritize before tackling projects if needed.

The packaging was simple and lovely. I always appreciate when an artist writes a handlettered thank you note but Pratima went a step further and even calligraphed the tag. Swoon.

As you may know from our nursery post, we've been rearranging and reorganizing our entire house, particularly the rooms downstairs (including the studio). I changed out the sewing table and replaced it with the wooden piece my dad built for me which now acts as the printing / filing / shipping station. This print fit perfectly in between the brackets of the shelf above it all (looking at this photo, I think I may need to change out some of the things on the top shelf though).

The paper quality is so sturdy that it doesn't even need a frame. It would look great in a frame, but I also love the way it fits sans frame so I'm going with it. Plus the binder clip says "Do" as an extra reminder to take some time, enjoy the morning and move steadily into the day.
